![]() ![]() Scale doesn't necessarily mean more people. If we talk about something closer to our capabilities today (battlestar galactica and stargate) we'll see that tau'ri battlecruisers are about the same size of starfarer cruisers (Prometheus right above Apogee for example, and the Daedalus right under Onslaught) and battlestar galactica ships are about on starfarer scale as well (Colonial one, a decent sized passenger ship, is about the same size as a Dram class tanker and the Colonial mover, a giant cargo vessel, has about the same capacity volume when you consider its narrowness as an Atlas freighter)Īlternatively, if we talk about our capabilities today, we can see that the Nimitz has about the same amount of deck space as an Astral (sure the Nimitz is longer, but she has only one flight deck and is a lot thinner on the Z Axis than her spaceborne cousin) So essentially, star wars and star trek ships are rather oversized (we are talking about tens of kilometers long ships and matter replication level of technology respectively though) ![]() It's based on the size of the hound scaled against the humans in the hound hangar picture, then scaled frigates and fighters down a little bit based on fighter's docking scale (how they get smaller when they dock)Ĭredits to Dan Carlson for the original image which I superimposed Starsector onto ![]()
